 Herodotus writes of Midas that he had a garden in the valley below Mount Vermio with sixty-leafed roses of exceptional fragrance and a spring of cool water, which Midas mixed with wine and offered to Seilinos, a deity of wine and relative of Dionysus , which he hosted for ten days. She wanted to get him drunk to learn the secrets of his wisdom.
